The QAV data format does not allow for numbers higher than 4095 because the memory locations that store the tilenums are only 12 bit. About flickering; In the first map when jumping on tomb stones the graphics appear to be buggy for an instance, this has to do with going from a lower to upper stack. XQAVEDIT (tool)

XQAVEDIT is a DOS application that makes it possible to edit hidden frame parameters which normally can't be set and aren't visible in QAVEDIT.
Just place it in your QAV folder.

Usage: XQAVED2B yourfile.qav

Yes, I believe that M210 doesn't want to touch Barf and probably the other tools that are important for adding user content.

It would indeed a great benefit if the source would be released as more people are able to work on it, improving the port.
