Mysterious Witchaven box screenshot explained

Postby ETTiNGRiNDER » Wed Sep 07, 2016 5:47 pm

Ernie Roque of the Witchaven dev team recently contacted me explaining the mysterious ship screenshot from the Witchaven retail box that I mentioned on my trivia page.

Ernie Roque wrote:This was actually one of the first maps we created to test the capabilities of the engine. The characters did not exist at that point so they were photoshopped (actually DeluxePainted) in there. But it was a massive level where you could go into the hull of the ship with spiral staircases and had secret doors that opened into massive areas hidden inside the mast. Good times, good times.

I've updated the details on the page accordingly. Thanks Ernie!

What else you have over there EG on your web site for Witchaven related? (BTW what happen to your signature, there isn't one pointing to your sites pages)

I know I can visit it to find out, but I ask to get an authors commentary. :)

I have a bunch of other little bits of trivia that I've gathered regarding the games over time, like that there's a band named after them and that some of the maps were based on a tabletop RPG supplement.

Ernie hinted at having more info for me but I never got another reply, not sure if E-mail servers dropping messages are to blame or not.
