Hack QAVEDIT?

Is there someone who can (and will) hack qavedit to use more than 15 art files?

The problem is that the commercial registered Blood handles more ART Tiles than the 15 this tool only handles. Instead of using more tools, Blood modders would like to use a hack version of the one tool to make use of the additional tiles that Blood will handle. (The Blood Alpha, where QAVEDIT comes from, only handles 15 tiles.)

If you have more than 13 art files in blood dir, some sprites in qavedit will be distorted.
If you have more than 15 art files (Blood since plasma uses up to 23 art files), you cant select tiles that come after 4095 num.
If you have more than 18 art files, qavedit stops load/save qav files.

We really need to force it to make it work correctly with more than 15 art files (this is why qav shift tool was created).

The QAV data format does not allow for numbers higher than 4095 because the memory locations that store the tilenums are only 12 bit.
The reason why tiles look garbled if more than 16 art files (TILES000-TILES015) are used is because TILES0016 will somehow overwrite TILES000 in memory without the proper dimension values or something.

You're mixing up .QAV with the .SEQ format. See the read me and the source codes for details in .SEQ/.QAV tiles id number fixer.

I have a newly compiled QAVEDIT (not hacked) which actually can read more than 4095 tiles. But it will be released once it has more planned features.

No, Blood Alpha misses Helix library and Qtools library. A person named sirlemonhead has managed to get Helix library and reverse engineered (is that a verb?) Qtools. And here we are. But like I said, it's going to be released if more planned features are added... if he adds them ^^.

He also compiled BARF for Windows.

Interesting, so the it will actually use 16 bits instead of the 12 now?

If I am not mistaken, it was all about raising the limit for kMaxTiles in several places.
